VocaLink was created on 2 July 2007 from the combination of the two market leaders in electronic payments and transactions (Voca and LINK Interchange Network). These two companies had already been working in partnership since 2005 to develop the UK’s Faster Payments service, which went live on 27 May 2008.

VocaLink has an impeccable service record across all areas of its business and a passion to move the banking industry forward, maintaining the confidence and trust of the financial community in the UK and beyond.

VocaLink provides the backbone of the banking industry. Our technical infrastructure makes electronic payments and transactions possible.  In the UK, nearly all electronic transactions - from card payments to Direct Debits and cash withdrawals - pass through our systems. Many international banks work with us to extend the efficiency we provide in the UK to their global operations.
