Banque Populaire
The Banque Populaire Group, chaired by Philippe Dupont, is a powerful group of cooperative banks with 40,500 employees and a network of 20 Banque Populaire banks. It operates in all areas of retail banking and in real estate services, following the acquisition of Foncia, finalized in May 2007. With 7 million customers and over 2,900 branches, the Group is one of France’s largest retail banking networks. It is also a major player in corporate and investment banking and services via Natixis, a listed company in which it holds a 34.4% stake. In 2006, the Banque Populaire Group recorded revenues of €8 billion and net income of €1.7 billion. At December 31, 2006 total regulatory capital amounted to €20.4 billion.
