Board of Directors

The Mobey Forum Board of Directors consists of ten directors. It comprises founder member organisations and other Full Members elected to the Board. The Board is responsible for setting Mobey Forum's strategy and for approving all deliverables.

 

Ron van Wezel – Mobey Forum Chairman

Deutsche Bank

Mr. van Wezel is Director and Global Head of Emerging Payment Streams at Deutsche Bank.  In this role he is globally responsible for Deutsche Bank’s mobile and online payment services and other emerging payment flows. Prior to this position, Mr. van Wezel worked for ABN AMRO where he held several management positions in the global transaction banking business.

Mr. van Wezel brings to Mobey Forum 25 years experience in the payments and cards industry and has been a member of the Mobey Forum Board since 2006.  He has held the position of Mobey Forum Chair since 2007.

 

Bent Bentsen – Mobey Forum Vice Chairman

DNB Bank

Mr. Bentsen currently serves as Senior Advisor of Group Payments and Infrastructure at DNB Bank ASA. Within this role Mr. Bentsen has been responsible for mobile financial services since 2002 and also advises on mobile infrastructure, covering mobile banking, mobile security and mobile payments. His position also incorporates his work as General Manager for a Norwegian near field communications project on behalf of Telenor and DNB Bank.

Mr. Bentsen joined Mobey Forum in 2001 and became the main representative of DnB NOR, the predecessor of DNB Bank, in 2002. He has held a seat on the Board of Directors since 2006 and was elected Vice Chair in 2008. 

 

Boris Brunner

UBS AG Zurich

Mr. Brunner currently serves as Head of Client Cash Solutions at UBS AG Zurich. In his current role he is responsible for the strategic development and market placement of all domestic and cross-border payments, as well as cash management products and services offered to private and corporate clients. In addition to his position on the Mobey Forum Board, Mr. Brunner is also the Deputy Chairman of the Interbank Committee, Payments Committee Switzerland and is a member of both the Swiss Bankers Association Working Group, and the Swiss Commission for Financial Standardisation.

Mr. Brunner has participated in Mobey Forum and been a member of the Board since April 2011.

 

Matt Calman

Bank of America

Mr. Calman is Senior Vice President and Research and Development (R&D) Executive at Bank of America.  Mr. Calman has been with Bank of America for 25 years and in his role he leads the Consumer Bank R&D team and the Gateway Innovation Lab. His team combines cutting-edge research with strategies and innovation capabilities to develop new products and services.  Mr. Calman also leads the bank’s affiliations with the MIT Media Lab and the Microsoft Innovation Outreach Program. He is a board member of the Smart Card Alliance and the Association of Managers of Innovation.

Mr. Calman has been a member of the Mobey Forum Board since 2010.

 

Jordi Guaus

laCaixa

Mr. Guaus currently serves as Head of Mobile Payments at La Caixa. In his current role he is responsible for developing mobile payment services and also works closely with the Cards Unit of La Caixa to advance mobile internet banking services. At La Caixa Mr. Guaus is also Project Manager of Mobile Shopping Sitges 2010, which is the first near field communication (NFC) trial in Spain.

Mr. Guaus has participated in Mobey Forum since 2005 and has been a member of the Board since 2009. He is also the Chair of the Business Workgroup.

 

Juha Risikko

Nordea

Mr. Risikko currently serves as Senior Business Developer in the Mobile Solutions unit at Nordea. With ten years’ experience in mobile financial services, Mr. Risikko is doing business development in Nordea’s mobile banking offering. He also chairs the technology and security working block in the M-Channel Working Group of the European Payments Council.

Mr. Risikko has participated in Mobey Forum since 2003 and been a member of the Board since 2006.

 

Gerhard Romen

Nokia

Mr. Romen serves as Director of Mobile Financial Services at Nokia. In this role he is responsible for driving, incubating and bringing to market new financial business solutions. Mr. Romen’s key achievements include  Nokia’s early stage mobile banking platform in 1999,  its NFC-based offering which included mobile payments from 2005 and most recently Nokia Money, Nokia’s mobile financial services initiative.

Mr. Romen shares his 25 years’ of experience in the development of solutions and services within the mobile and IT industry with Mobey Forum. He is working actively in the Mobey Forum since 2005, a member of the board since 2006 and serves as Chair of the Marketing Work Group.

 

Nick Staib

HSBC

Mr. Staib currently serves as Senior Manager at HSBC Bank plc. With subject matter expertise in both online security and mobile strategy, Mr. Staib sits on both HSBC UK and global steering committees and is currently closely involved in defining the shape of various near field communication trials within HSBC. Prior to this he has managed both personal and business internet banking support teams, as well as being a respected group relationship manager in corporate and correspondent banking.

Mr. Staib has been a member of the Board since 2007.

 

Amir Tabakovic

PostFinance

Mr. Tabakovic currently serves as Senior Market Manager at PostFinance, the fourth largest retail bank in Switzerland. In his current role he is responsible for digital channel strategies as well as initiation, development and market introduction of digital innovations. A former start-up entrepreneur in the field of web applications, Mr. Tabakovic likes to be at the centre of merging business and communication technologies and bringing new solutions to market.

Mr. Tabakovic has participated in Mobey Forum since 2010 and been a member of the Board since 2011.

 

Wim Westerhof

Rabobank

Mr. Westerhof currently serves as Senior Vice President of Rabobank Netherlands. With over 25 years’ industry experience, Mr. Westerhof is responsible for business development at Rabobank and has been central to projects in the development area of mobile financial services such as the epayments scheme ‘iDeal’ and mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Rabo Mobiel. Mr. Westerhof is Programme Director of Sixpack, an initiative instigated by a consortium of three Dutch banks and three mobile network operators called TRAVIK.  This consortium seeks to develop the Dutch infrastructure for mobile near field communication (NFC) payment transactions to be launched in 2012.

Mr. Westerhof is also a member of the European Payments Council Mobile Channel Working Group. Mr. Westerhof has been a member of the Board since 2005.

 

Executive team

Sirpa Nordlund - Executive Director

Ms. Nordlund currently serves as Executive Director of Mobey Forum. Previously a guest speaker at Mobey Forum events, Ms Nordlund is now responsible for the direction of Mobey Forum initiatives and for overseeing the operational management of the group.

Prior to joining Mobey Forum, Ms Nordlund served at Nokia for ten years, where she held several management positions. She was especially involved with the business development of NFC. More recently, Ms. Nordlund was responsible for the sales in selected European markets at Venyon, which provided trusted NFC services as a subsidiary of Giesecke & Devrient.

Ms. Nordlund has held the position of Mobey Forum Executive Director since 2010.

 

Ida Floor - Member Relations Manager

Ms. Floor currently serves as Member Relations Manager of Mobey Forum. Within this role, she is responsible for liaising with external bodies interested in membership and engaging with current members to ensure they gain maximum visibility and benefits from their participation in Mobey Forum. In addition to this, Ms. Floor manages the member communications including the regular newsletter and member updates and acts as coordinator for the Marketing Workgroup and Events Task Force.

Ms. Floor joined Mobey Forum as Information Coordinator in February 2010. She has held her current position since January 2011.
